Cold Iron Brewing Event Raises $540 for Ironwood Carnegie Library
At a book-signing event at Cold Iron Brewing in Ironwood, $540 from Bring One Home book sales was donated to the Ironwood Carnegie Library.
The book is the story of the city of Bessemer in the 1960s when the iron ore mining industry was declining and the high school basketball team was mired in a 42-game losing streak. Cole Kivisto, in the center of the photo below, hosted the event at which author Tom Pelissero donated all book sale proceeds to the library. Library director Lynnne Wiercinski said the money will be used to buy books for the nearly complete Carnegie addition, which will be used mainly as a library for children and teens.
